The museum of her own: Women’s Museum in Bonn

September 3, on the occasion of the exhibition “Gabriele Muenter Preis 2010” – one of the most important prices for female artists – Bettina Bab invited Mansoureh Shojaee from Iranian women’s museum, to visit this exhibition. We had a first meeting and discussed the next steps of research and exchanged some experiences about women’s museums.

In this nice friendly meeting Ulrike Mond, explained the prize and some women artists.

Marianne Pitzen talked in a simpatico atmosphere about the first days when the initiators occupied without any official permission an old, cold, and BOLD building in 1981!

Gamma Terheyden, an artist, remembered: “When I made some installations and worked for an exposition Marianne motivated me and other women by her ideas and fantasy and she gave us energy to realize many different projects.”

Now , in 2010, after nearly 30 years, many women have developed this special and very effective women’s museum.

After hearing theses narrations Mansoureh with respect of VirginaWolf ‘ s famous book suggested to call this museum: The museum of her own!

Finally we could meet Mansoureh Shojaee! On the occasion of the event “Genova, città dei diritti”, in which Shirin Ebadi has an important discours about human rights, Sissi Prader and Astrid Schönweger from the women’s museum Merano could meet Mansoureh Shojaee, the director of the women’s library in Teheran and the future women’s museum of Iran! She is at the moment in Germany and with the help of the women’s museum Merano and Ella Mohammadi, the official translater for Mrs. Ebadi in Italy, she could partecipate to the event of Genoa, where we have spoken about the future women’s museum in Iran.

Last week a massive global outcry stopped an Iranian woman, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, from being stoned to death.

But Sakineh still faces hanging, and today, fifteen more people await execution by stoning — people are buried up to their necks and large rocks are hurled at their heads. More informations:

Human Rights Activist Narges Mohammadi hospitalized after release!

Mrs. Mohammadi, who received in June 2009 the prize of the Foundation Alexander Langer in Bolzano/Italy, is in very bad conditions after her release of prison. Further informations you can read here:

We are with you, Narges!

Mit großer Bestürzung haben wir erfahren, dass Narges Mohammadi, Langerpreisträgerin 2009, heute Nacht von der Geheimpolizei verhaftet wurde.
Laut ersten Angaben zeigte die Polizei einen Haftbefehl, aber der Verhaftungsgrund ist ebenso wenig bekannt, wie der Ort, an den sie hingebracht wurde).

Narges Mohammadi, Mutter von zwei kleinen Zwillingen, ist Vizepräsidentin und Sprecherin des von Shirin Ebadi, Friedensnobelpreisträgerin 2003, gegründeten Defenders of Human Rights Center (Zentrums für die Verteidigung der Menschenrechte) und Vorsitzende des National Peace Council. Narges Mohammadis Mann, Taghi Rahmani, ist schon mehrmals verhaftet worden (das letzte Mal im März dieses Jahres). In der letzten Zeit ist Narges Mohammadi, die im November 2009 von ihrem Arbeitsplatz als Ingenieur entlassen wurde, wiederholt verhört worden.

Die Alexander-Langer-Stiftung hat für morgen, den 12. Juni 2010, ein Jahr nach der umstrittenen Präsidentschaftswahl im Iran, eine Unterschriftensammlung zur Unterstützung der Kampagne von United4Iran zur Freilassung aller politischen Gefangenen im Iran organisiert, die ab 10.30 Uhr am Bozner Rathausplatz stattfinden wird. Die Veranstaltung ist Teil des Aktionstages “June 12: Global Day of Action”. Die Liste der politischen Gefangenen im Iran hat sich leider um einen der Stiftung sehr wichtigen Namen verlängert und so wird morgen auch die sofortige Freilassung Narges Mohammadis gefordert werden.

Apprendiamo con sgomento e preoccupazione la notizia dell’arresto di Narges Mohammadi, Premio Langer 2009. Stando alle prime notizie, questa notte agenti della polizia segreta avrebbero fatto irruzione nella sua abitazione mostrando un mandato d’arresto. Motivo dell’arresto e luogo di detenzione non sono noti.

Narges Mohammadi, madre di due piccoli gemelli, è vicepresidente e portavoce del Defenders of Human Rights Center (Centro dei difensori dei diritti
umani) fondato dal premio Nobel per la pace 2003 Shirin Ebadi. Il marito di Narges, Taghi Rahmani è già stato più volte arrestato (l’ultima nel marzo di quest’anno). Voce critica nei confronti del regime, negli ultimi tempi Narges Mohammadi aveva subito numerosi interrogatori. Nel novembre 2009 era stata licenziata dal suo lavoro di ingegnere ispettore.

Così domani, nella manifestazione-raccolta di firme, indetta dalla Fondazione Alexander Langer in piazza Municipio a Bolzano, dalle ore 10.30 in poi, a sostegno della campagna globale promossa da United4Iran per la liberazione delle prigioniere/dei prigionieri di coscienza in Iran in occasione del primo anniversario della contestata rielezione del presidente Ahmadinejad. La lista dei prigionieri/delle prigioniere si è così purtroppo allungata con un nome assai caro alla Fondazione e a questo punto tra le richieste ci sarà anche quella della liberazione immediata di Narges Mohammadi.

Kiana Firouz, 27 Jahre alt, ist eine iranische LGBT-Aktivistin,
Filmemacherin und Schauspielerin. Nachdem Ausschnitte aus ihrem
Dokumentarfilm über den Kampf und Verfolgung Schwuler und Lesben in
ihrem Land die iranischen Behörden erreichten, wurde sie von Agenten der
Regierung durch Tehran verfolgt, belästigt und bedroht. Sie floh nach
England wo sie ihre Arbeit und ihr Studium in Sicherheit fortführen konnte.

Jetzt soll sie abgeschoben werden, was für sie Folter und Ermordung
bedeuten würde! Also unterzeichnet die Petition und verbreitet die
Nachricht weiter!!

Kiana Firouz, 27 years old, is an outspoken Iranian LGBT rights
activist, filmmaker, and actress. When clips of her video documentary
work featuring the struggle and persecution of gays and lesbians in her
country were acquired by Iranian intelligence, agents began to follow
Firouz around Tehran, harassing and intimidating her. She fled for
England where she could safely continue her work and studies.

She plays a starring role in Cul de Sac, a documentary film produced in
the UK about the condition of lesbians in Iran, and based heavily on
Firouz´s own life story. Directed by Ramin Goudarzi-Nejad and Mahshad
Torkan, the movie willpremiere in London in a few days. Since the
trailer was posted on YouTube in December 2009, Cul de Sachas attracted
global media attention, with thousands of views. Apparently, some of
those views included members of Ahmadinejad´s puppet media in Iran. They
know who Firouz is and what she stands for. They want her to come back
to the country she was born in to answer for it.

Firouz, understandably, has requested asylum from the British
government. Much to everyone´s shock and dismay, the British Home Office
has rejected her application for refugee status. Yes, they know she´s
gay. Yes, they know she could be deported back to Iran at any time, and
that if this happens, Firouz will most likely be sentenced to torture
and death after being found guilty of the “unspeakable sin of
homosexuality” because she has participated in explicit lesbian sex
scenes in the movie, and been a fierce proponent for human rights in her
country.

In Iran, the punishment for lesbianism involving mature consenting women
consists of 100 lashes. This punishment can be applied up to three
times. After a fourth violation of Iranian law, a woman convicted of
“unrepentant homosexuality” is finally executed by hanging, often
publicly, in front of a howling mob.

am Samstag, den 8. Mai, um 20:00 Uhr wird das Theaterstück
„Eine Akte, Zwei Morde“ in Berlin aufgeführt.

Tiyatrom, Alte Jakob Str. 12, 10969 Berlin 

Es geht in dieser Inszenierung der iranischen Theaterregisseurin Niloofar Beyzaie um den
politischen Mord an dem Ehepaar Parwaneh und Dariush Forouhar, die im Jahr 1998 vom
iranischen Geheimdienst neben einer Reihe von weiteren Mordfällen an iranischen Oppositionellen,
Schriftstellern und Intellektuellen in ihrem Haus brutal ermordet wurden.

Das Stück „Eine Akte, zwei  Morde“ ist ein dokumentarisches Theaterstück und basiert auf Fakten,
Dokumenten und Recherchen, sowie vielen Gesprächen mit der Tochter der ermordeten Forouhars, 
Parastou Forouhar. Sie ist eine Künstlerin aus Frankfurt, die bis heute für eine Verurteilung
der Täter und gegen das System in ihrer Heimat – auch mit ihrer Kunst kämpft.
Die Idee zu diesem Stück entstand bei der Theaterautorin und –regisseurin Niloofar Beyzaie schon
vor einem Jahr, die von dem Mut, der Ausdauer und dem Gerechtigkeitssinn Parastous sehr
beeindruckt ist.
Das Stück wird in persischer Sprache mit deutschem Übertiteln aufgeführt und ist somit für ein
nicht persischsprachiges Publikum verständlich.

Nach der Aufführung werden Niloofar Beyzaie und Parastou Forouhar auf Fragen aus dem Publikums
eingehen.

Das Stück „Eine Akte, Zwei Morde“ ist eine Produktion der Theatergruppe Daritsche aus Frankfurt
am Main und wird vom Amt für Wissenschaft und Kunst, Amt für multikulturellen Angelegenheiten
sowie das hessische Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst unterstützt.
